In Nell Gwynn, an orange seller from Drury Lane becomes an actress and instantly becomes the hit of the Restoration theater. She quickly wins over Charles II as a fan, and the king brings her to court as a favorite mistress. The show is commissioned by Shakespeare’s Globe, and it won the 2016 Olivier Award for Best New Comedy. If you love Shakespeare or theater in general, you’re sure to enjoy Nell Gwynn.
