Head to the Starting Line at the Thanksgiving Day Trot for Hunger
November 12, 2019Thanksgiving is the perfect time to reflect on all the things you’re grateful for, from friends and family to your good health. It’s also a great time to give back to others who may not be as fortunate as you. That’s what the 18th Annual Thanksgiving Day Trot for Hunger is all about. It gives you an excuse to get together with the people you love and to help raise money for members of your community in need.
On Thanksgiving morning, November 28th, more than 8,000 runners and walkers will descend upon Freedom Plaza for a 5K that benefits families and seniors in the area. The timed 5K kicks off at 9 a.m., followed by an untimed 5K that’s just for fun, which starts at 9:15 a.m. Once you cross the finish line, hang out at Freedom Plaza to enjoy live entertainment, music, and games before you head off for your Thanksgiving feast.
